Pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide have been using Dowtherm and Syltherm products for multi step precision manufacturing processes, especially in batch processing operations.

Contract manufacturers find tremendous value in these products since a single product can be used within a wide operating range, thus avoiding the need for new fluid fills for different jobs involving heating and cooling.

The Syltherm range of silicone fluids essentially have no odour, are very low in acute oral toxicity and are not listed as reportable under SARA Title III, Section 313.

Dowtherm J can be used in the liquid phase between -80C and 315C and in the vapour phase between 181C and 315C. Using Dowtherm J in system requiring both heating and cooling can simplify the system design by eliminating the need for multiple fluids while minimizing operational problems.

Syltherm 800 is a highly stable, long lasting silicone fluid with a recommended operating temperature range of -40C to 400C, the broadest range of any heat transfer fluid. This product can often remain in service for 10 years or more, even when operated at the upper end of its recommended operating range.

Syltherm XLT has an operating range of -100C to 260C, which makes it especially well suited for single fluid process heating and cooling systems.

Syltherm HF is a specially formulated silicone polymer designed for use as a low temperature, liquid phase heat transfer fluid. With the same operating range of -100C to 260C as Syltherm XLT, this product offers a closed cup flash point of 63C.
