Food Processing

Dowcal inhibited glycol based fluids are widely used in food processing, with applications including food product chilling and freezing, coil defrosting and cold room dehumidifying. Dowcal is widely used in breweries, wineries and dairies for cooling and chilling during processing.

Some Dowcal fluids are low in acute oral toxicity and can be used to depress freeze points in food and beverage processing and in other applications.

These fluids contain specially formulated corrosion inhibitor packages which provide protection for metals commonly used in heat transfer systems.

Low temperature pumpability down to -50°C and high temperature operation up to 175°C make these fluids useful in single fluid process heating and cooling batch operations.

Dowcal 10 / Dowcal 100 are speciality inhibited ethylene glycols with an operating range of -50°C to 170°C which protects most MOCs against corrosion. Since these product are supplied in concentrated form, you will need to procure only a fraction of your system volume and dilute with water at site, instead of having to procure 100% of your system volume for pre-diluted glycols.

Dowcal N is a speciality FDA-approved inhibited propylene glycol with an operating range of -45°C to 120°C. The inhibitors in this product protect most MOCs against corrosion. Since these product are supplied in concentrated form, you will need to procure only a fraction of your system volume and dilute with water at site, instead of having to procure 100% of your system volume for pre-diluted glycols.
